Step Into Salsa teaches the popular On2 NY Style of Salsa! If you don’t know what the On2 Style is, click here to see the basic step. Our Salsa group classes help you transition from feeling awkward to confident at the club. We cover leading and following techniques, fundamental partnerwork patterns, and much more. If you’ve never danced before, fear not. We start from scratch at the basic step and progress to more advanced partnerwork and footwork patterns.
We teach our classes in 4-week progressive cycles. In the first week of the cycle, you will receive our Salsa class syllabus to supplement what you learn in class. The syllabus is a tool to help you track your progress and learn the names of the steps. At the end of each cycle, our instructors will determine whether or not you are ready to advance into the next class level. If not, we will give you specific feedback on what elements and steps need more practice. If you need help and review outside of class, you can view our online videos for a small monthly fee. All material taught in class is included in our online video library.
Consistency in attendance is essential in order to progress as a dancer and keep pace with the rest of the students in class. Students attending class more than once a week have shown the best results in their dancing. We are as committed to helping you succeed in your dancing as you are.
Also, you will have a chance to get real field experience alongside other students and peers when we hit the local latin club every month. This is a great way to utilize all the stuff you are learning in class on the real dance floor.
***Classes may be cancelled if attendance is less than 5 students or if any severe severe weather conditions hit our area. In the event of cancellation, class status will be posted here on this page and students will also be notified by email. Please check this page regularly to stay updated on class cancellations and changes.
